The Official Animal Rights March was founded in London in 2016 by a small group of activists who believed that the animal rights movement needed a visible, photogenic, peaceful public demonstration that could be replicated globally. Nine years later, it is the world’s largest coordinated animal rights event.

Our Mission

We exist to normalise veganism and to make animal exploitation visible. We believe that when people truly see what happens to animals in agriculture, research and entertainment, the ethical case for change becomes undeniable. Our role is to create the conditions for that seeing.

Our Values

We are a peaceful, inclusive movement. We welcome participants of all backgrounds, dietary positions and levels of commitment. We believe lasting change comes from expanding the circle of compassion, not from shaming those who have not yet arrived at the same conclusions.

International Network

OARM coordinating groups currently operate in 34 countries. Each national group is independently managed but united by shared branding, messaging and the annual march calendar. We provide resources, training and media support to all affiliated groups.
